RELEASE DATE: TUESDAY OCTOBER 10, 2017

VENOM is the second music video release off of Bebe Huxley’s highly anticipated EP SCORPIO releasing November 7, 2017. With this pulsing Experimental Pop track, Bebe Huxley transforms into characters molded out of her psyche, embodying aspects of her sexual wonder and disgust in a hallucinatory nightmare—and it’s a lot of fun.  Huxley, with notable appearances by singer Saturn Risin9 and performance artist Krimm, ingest a mystery pill that turn them into demonic club kids, high on self-exploration. But the trip has some unexpected challenges.

“The trip in Venom is about what it means to face my understanding of being a sexually empowered woman, and the internalized shame that can come as a result. In the darkest part of the trip, I become a pervy old man getting off to a camgirl, who I also play. I embody the male gaze and my own complicity with it. The rules of femininity are a powerful poison, deadly unless we take control and use it the way we want to. You can’t fuck with self-possession, which is something that I’ve learned through genderfuck performance.”

Venom is the video directorial debut for San Francisco visual artist Jader known for their avante garde portraits of beautifully grotesque personas. The video was produced by Toxic Waste Face, a Bay Area production team comprised of Jader, Vain Hein, and Psueda, creating otherworldy prosthetic creations and mutant alter-egos, legendary to the San Francisco queer scene. Venom has a ferocious techno beat produced by Vancouver musician Vincent Parker, with vocals written and produced by Huxley herself.

“I am a sensitive, viscous, sexual, self-destructive and sincere Scorpio to the bone. My music is about dying and being reborn into the next version of myself that will know more, love better, and fight harder than the past of my many broken shells."
